Mary Leask

Originally a Manchester girl, I joined WRNS in 1977 where I met my husband at HMS Dolphin in Gosport. I left the WRNS in 1984 and have spent the last 27 years working at a Gosport school as the School Business Manager. I found this very rewarding, with no two days the same and children that make you laugh by saying the funniest things.

I am a Mother of two grown-up children and a Grandmother of four; one Grandson has been through the Academy and another Grandson still attends.

My husband and I moved to Locks Heath three years ago to be closer to the family. This means that I have been able to collect my grandsons on occasions from the Academy and attend school events.

I retired at the end of December 2023 and I feel with my experience as a member of the Gosport school's team I have a lot to offer the Academy with a proactive and partnership role in supporting strategies for Hook-with-Warsash Academy as a school governor.

Pecuniary and other interests: I have a grandson at the school

First appointed as a Governor: 1st January 2024

Committee membership: Resources

Term ends: 31st December 2027
