Emily Ransley

After attending Hook-with-Warsash as a child, and having a wonderful journey there, it was my dream to return as a member of staff. I studied a BA Hons in Primary Education and Teaching, with English as my specialism, at Winchester University. Throughout the four years at University I gained invaluable experience in various schools and additionally completed self-directed placements for further involvement within education.

After graduating, I worked as a supply teacher for a local agency and was thrilled when a job opportunity arose at Hook. I started teaching at the school in 2015 and have since taught classes in Key Stage Two, with the majority of my teaching time spent in Year Five. I am subject leader for Science and have particularly enjoyed organising Science themed days to enthuse the children in this fascinating and important subject. My current role involves working closely with pupils in Years One and Two which has given me a fresh insight into the infants.

At the start of this year I returned from maternity leave after having a little boy, Harry. Outside of school, I enjoy: keeping fit, spending time with my family and learning all about one year olds!
