Julia Birt - Chair of Governors
My career started in Recreation Management including working at Lockswood Community Centre, managing Fleming Park in Eastleigh, coupled with being a lecturer at Southampton Institute and heading up Eastleigh Borough Council’s Sport and Active Lifestyles team. This team oversaw play areas, building projects, many on school sites, health interventions and open space management.
Partnership working was a key responsibility for me as a Local Area Manager and involved collaborating with organisations such as Hampshire Cricket Club, Wildern School and parish and town councils for the benefit of the local community.
My last role as Eastleigh Borough Council’s Executive Head of Organisational Development includes overseeing Human Resources, InformationTechnology, Communications and Marketing, Resource Management and Safety and Resilience.
I am also a qualified Executive Coach and a Change Management Practitioner.
I have been a Governor at Eastleigh College (Further Education) and I am delighted to continue this role in Warsash at my local school.
I have lived next door to the school for over 20 years. My two children, both now grown up, enjoyed an excellent education at the school and took part in many of the extra curricular activities. I am therefore keen to play a part in ensuring these positive experiences continue for future generations.
