Rev Mike Terry

Rev Mike Terry - Chair of the Forging Links Committee

I share being the part-time vicar at St Mary's church in Church Road with my wife, Nicky-Sue.  We've been working at the church since September 2013 although we only moved to Warsash in August 2014.  We met at Bible college in Cambridge when studying for ordination and married in 2009.  Before that I had served for 31 years in the Royal Navy as an Engineer Officer and was fortunate to travel to several interesting parts of the world.  I lived in Fareham for about 28 years before moving to Warsash, and so know the area fairly well but now Nicky-Sue and I are really enjoying being part of Warsash village life.  I am a Foundation Governor since that is part of the vicar's role, but it is a real privilege to work with the Head Teacher, Sara Willoughby, her marvellous staff and the excellent team of Governors at Hook Academy.  I know their focus is on improving standards while maintaining a good, friendly and safe learning environment.  We remain keen to strengthen the links between church and school, which are already very good, and to that end I chair the Forging Links Committee, assist with Collective Worship and we welcome the Academy to the church for special services several times a year.  I am pleased to be part of the great team at Hook.

As the incumbent at St Mary’s I am an ex-oficio Foundation Governor.
