Being a Church School

Hook-with-Warsash C of E Academy – a Church School

Hook-with-Warsash C of E Academy is a Church school within the Diocese of Portsmouth. As a Church school we have a distinctly Christian character and are underpinned by Christian values. Our whole ethos and vision is matched to the teachings of the Christian church. This gives our school a special sense of community and leads to a nurturing and caring environment for all of our children. Our values are reflected in the behaviour, attitude and dedication of learners and staff alike.

We have extremely strong links with St Marys Church, Warsash, and Reverend Mike Terry and other members of the church community are regular visitors to the school, including leading whole school worship. We also celebrate Christian festivals as a school community at the church throughout the year.

We are proud of our Christian heritage, with the school being founded by the National Society in 1871, and we also ensure that we are part of the wider community of the village of Warsash and the surrounding area. Hook-with-Warsash C of E Academy welcomes and embraces children from all backgrounds and religious beliefs, secure in the knowledge that we will provide for their needs and support their development and progression both educationally and as tolerant and respectful human beings.

In our last SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) we were graded as Good.
