Iain Wilkie (Governor and Member of the Trust)

Mr Iain Wilkie - Chair of the Resources Committee and (Foundation) Member of the Trust

I was delighted to be appointed as a Foundation Governor in November 2012 to represent the interests of St Mary’s Church, which I attend regularly. I am a member of the Parochial Church Council and I sing in the choir. My wife and I have lived in Warsash for over 20 years and we have four children. I have previously served on various National and Local Scout Association Committees concerning water activities and in particular sailing. My previous business background saw me heavily involved in senior credit management, corporate banking and asset finance for over 30 years. Following a complete lifestyle change in 2007, I ran my own Driving School in the local area for a number of years, and I am now retired.  This allows me to spend more leisure time on my love of music, holidays in France and trying to reduce my golf handicap.

I was originally appointed as a Foundation Governor in November 2012 but after standing down as a Foundation Governor on 2nd May 2023, was subsequently reappointed as a Co-opted Governor by the Governing Body on 15th May 2023. My term ends on 14th May 2027.

I am Chair of the Resources Committee and a member of the Pay & Appraisal Committee and the Governance & Audit Committee. I am also the Governor overseeing the General Date Protection Regulations 2018. I was appointed as a Foundation Member on 22nd August 2022.

I have completed certificated Safer Recruitment Training.
