Mr Darren Nice

I have two daughters that have both completed their primary education at Hook with Warsash. I enjoyed two years as the Treasurer on the PTFA raising funds for activities and equipment for the pupils. I am currently leading a software business working for a defence company. Before this role I worked for VT Flagship as Director of Operations across the Royal Navy Training Establishments responsible for 900 civilian staff delivering training to Officers and Ratings. I am qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant and completed an MBA at the University of Southampton in 2010, and an MSc at Cranfield University in 2023.

I was originally elected as a Parent Governor by the parents of pupils of the Academy. However, when my term ended in April 2016 I became an Appointed Governor appointed by the members of the Academy Trust and was also appointed by the Members as a Member of the Trust. I retired as a governor when my term ended on 31st March 2024 and as a consequence, under the terms of the Articles of Association, I was required to step down as a Member of the Academy Trust. I was reappointed by the remaining Members as a non-Governor Member of the Trust from 1st April 2024.  

I am the Internal Audit Officer for the Academy Trust
