Peter Daish

I recently retired as the Headteacher of an International School in Prague, a post I held for 23 years. Prior to this I was a Headteacher in Kent. I have also held the post of Head of Science at a school in Papua New Guinea and had various other teaching positions in the UK.

I was a pupil at Hook-with-Warsash School, as was my mother, my grandfather and all our siblings and cousins. Our relationship with the village is over a number of generations. My great, great grandfather was the coastguard, my great grandfather was the village carpenter and a master wheelwright, and my great grandmother owned the general store at Warsash Corner. My Grandfather was a strawberry grower and my grandmother, before her marriage was in service at Warsash House.

I have much to be thankful to the school for the excellent way it started me on my educational journey. I hope I will be able to give something back and I feel honoured to be a governor of the school.
