After attending Hook-with-Warsash as a child, and having a wonderful journey there, it was my dream to return as a member of staff. I studied a BA Hons in Primary Education and Teaching, with English as my specialism, at Winchester University. Throughout the four years at University, I gained invaluable experience in various schools and additionally completed self-directed placements for further involvement within education.
After graduating, I worked as a supply teacher for a local agency and was thrilled when a job opportunity arose at Hook. I started teaching at the school in 2015 and have since taught classes in Key Stage Two, with the majority of my teaching time spent in Upper Key Stage 2. I am currently subject leader for Design Technology and am excited to provide opportunities to ignite children’s curiosity in such a creative, hands-on subject. My current role involves working with children across the school which has given me a fresh insight into the infants.
At the start of this academic year, I returned from maternity leave after having our second child, Rosie. Outside of school, I enjoy: keeping fit, reading and spending time with my family.
I am a Staff Governor (teacher) elected by the members of the teaching staff of the Academy and my term ends on 28th March 2026.
I am a member of the Resources Committee.
