In January 2007 I was delighted to be appointed to the Governing Body as a Local Authority (LA) Governor.
For the past thirty years I was a teacher at a local secondary school. I taught History with some Geography but then retrained and became a Teacher of the Deaf working in the Hearing Impaired Resourced Area at the same school.
I stepped down as a Governor when my term ended on 18th December 2018 and as a consequence, under the terms of the Articles of Association I was required to also step down as a Member of the Academy Trust, to which position I had been appointed by the then existing Members on 9th October 2012. I was therefore delighted to be reappointed by the remaining Members as a non-Governor Member of the Trust from 19th December 2018.
I am an active member of the Arts Society, Sarisbury Green and my interests include opera, music and bird watching.
