With my son starting at Hook with Warsash in September I was keen to get more involved with the school so decided to apply to be a Governor as I enjoy meeting new people so felt being a Governor would be a great way to get to know the school, processes and people and hopefully share my skills and experience to enhance any areas needed.
I have lived in Warsash for over 7 years previously living in Titchfield for 3 years and enjoy being part of the community. When living in Titchfield I volunteered for the Titchfield Bonfire Boys Society to meet local people and raise funds to put on the yearly carnival in the village. Using my extensive knowledge of marketing I was responsible for all the marketing, PR & website for this local charity and attended monthly meetings.
I have been interested in the education sector since I worked at Fareham College prior to having my son where I was the Lecturer & Assessor for their Marketing & Business Apprenticeships. In addition to my experience at Fareham College I have volunteered in local schools through Solent EBP to share my business knowledge and experience. I enjoy meeting the children, listening to their ideas and hopes for the future.
I have been a Marketing professional for over 20 years in the IT industry and currently working as a Marketing Consultant for a global company specialising in the hospitality sector.
I am looking forward to being part the Marketing, Promotion & Media working group and have taken responsibility for the Development & Training Governor role.
First elected as a governor July 2020
