We have a beautiful, well-established Environmental Area within our school grounds. Here, the children have access to woodland, meadow, a sensory garden, a willow archway, various seating areas and a wildlife pond.
There is also a well-resourced environmental classroom where children are encouraged to use environmental studies equipment to further their learning.
The maintenance of the Environmental Area is due to the hard work of volunteers and members of the PTFA who regularly give up their time to help in Dig Days to keep the area tidy.
Our Early Years children enjoy Forest School weeks in this area every term. This allows them to investigate and observe the changes in nature throughout the differing seasons of the year. During these weeks while exploring the environment they develop their understanding of the world, communication skills, being creative and care for their surroundings.
